When Celeste Parker was recruited to promote a radio station with
deliveries of her gourmet cookies, DJ Gabe Freeman was dismayed to learn that he
was part of the package. So why was he fantasizing about Celeste, with her
wild curls and multicolored fingernails, when he should be planning his wedding
to the boss's daughter? True, the marriage is just a business merger, but
Gabe had never believed in true love until Celeste turned his orderly world
upside-down...

Dreams and his shaman grandfather urged Coyote to
seek his fate. Had the white bird led him to it? The woman was a beauty with
hair the color of corn silk, skin as pale as the desert lily. Naked and
feverish, she floated in the cavern pool, seeming to await him. All his life,
Coyote teetered between resentment of the white man and dreams that he should
learn more. Now, one thing seemed clear: This woman was his destiny.
She found him in the cave where she'd taken shelter,
the man whom Suzanne Lucas sought. Since she was five years old, she'd returned
here to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park --- here where she'd nearly been killed
in an earthquake; here where the dreams began. She'd seen herself in the desert,
surviving and thriving, and a boy. In her dreams, she'd watched that boy grow.
He'd become a man, a virile warrior --- just as she'd become a college
professor. But he always vanished when she awoke. This time, she would find a
way to make him stay.

Absolutely Fabulous!, June 9, 2004
DREAMQUEST is a wonderful adventure between dreams and reality, leaving
the reader wanting to track their own dreams. Coyote is strong, amazingly
tender--and if ever you're going to dream about a hero, he's the one. Suzanne is
the white bird he was destined to save both physically and emotionally. Together
they learn about loyalty, love and tradition. And together they learn that there
are no physical boundaries when it comes to the heart.
I loved this book!

It seems
all her life Suzanne Lucas has dreamed of the Native American male or at least
since she was five years old and a visitor to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Now needing to make an employment decision, teacher Suzanne decides to go on a
vacation back to her favorite state park after the most intense dream yet.
However, at the park after seeing an old man, an earthquake strikes, injuring
Suzanne.
In the 1860s, Coyote treks to his
favorite spot, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, to get away from things, but an
earthquake shakes things up a bit. When he reaches his oasis, he sees the
injured naked white female. His grandfather informs him that Suzanne is the bird
in the young warrior's dreams that he has envisioned for years. As Coyote helps
heal Suzanne, they fall in love, but avaricious miners abduct his beloved trying
to ransom her in exchange for the location of a legendary gold mine. Even if he
succumbs to their demands, neither knows whether she will remain in the
nineteenth century though if love is the ultimate force they belong together.
Time travel romance readers will enjoy
Suzanne's trek. The story line is at its best when the two lovers are confronted
with external enemies including stormy Mother Nature trying to bring Suzanne
back to the future. The couple is a fine pairing, but has no strife between them
as each easily accepts the other as their destined soulmate. Still sub-genre
readers will appreciate Suzanne's journey for love and Coyote's acceptance that
his cherished one was born over a hundred years from when they met.

Janet Wellington has yet again
created a well researched book with a great message: life is about taking
chances. DREAMQUEST tells the story of how important it is to pay attention to
your dreams and to trust yourself. Janet Wellington's care and respect of San
Diego and its history comes through in her writing. This book will not let you
go, even after you have finished reading--the characters, and all of the
possibilities for them, stay with you long after you put the book down. Do
yourself a favor; read and dare to dream.

I
don’t read much fiction
and must admit I’ve never read a romance novel! However, I did read
DREAMQUEST in two days and found it quite delightful. It called to me initially
because of my interest in the Kumeyaay but I fell into its spell for several
other reasons. I’ve been visiting the Anza-Borrego area for over 30 years
and I always have said that it’s where my spirit lives and where I feel
most at home– almost mystically so. I really related to the way Suzanne
described her feelings about the desert. As a docent at the Kumeyaay
Interpretive Center in Poway, California, I know most of the plants of the
deserts, and found it fascinating how you included them so nicely. The book was
just an all around nice experience. Thanks for the journey out of time.

Just
wanted to tell you that I just finished reading DREAMQUEST and I loved it.
I knew it would be good because I like your writing but I don't usually care
for paranormals or historicals. However, this was such an enjoyable read
that I had to tell you. Your
scene where the hero and heroine meet is priceless. The story kept me
wondering how you could ever resolve both her worlds. And I fell in
love with Coyote. It was so fun to read and I was quite
impressed with the level of research that went into making it so real.
What
a great job! I truly enjoyed it. Can't wait for your next one!

Forever Rose (Time Passages Romances)
Modern Southern California. When Taylor Rose
Martin visits the local county fair, a clairvoyant tells her that she is about
to embark on a passion-filled journey--a prediction she certainly isn't silly
enough to believe. After all, Taylor is an independent woman who has never
had the time or the temperament for love affairs. But she has a change of
heart when she is drawn back into the past...
San Diego 1888. While trying to discover the
reason for her trip through time, Taylor falls for Jackson, a handsome bartender
at a local saloon--and is horrified to learn that he is plotting to assassinate
Wyatt Earp. She soon gets a hint of her purpose in the past, but she is
preoccupied by her growing affection for Jackson--and wonders whether his
attraction to her is stronger than his desire for vengeance...
